Responsibilities

Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Estimates materials for new plans.
  • Creates and maintains accurate material take-offs.
  • Assists administrative personnel in purchasing and/or construction department by determining unitized material pricing.
  • Monitors material usage in the field for overages/shortages.
  • Records and analyzes take-off data through excel or other means.
  • Works collaboratively with other team members to ensure plan changes are processed effectively.
  • Assists local division, regional and/or national purchasing teams with plan value engineering efforts, to identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications

Candidates Will Need to Meet the Follow Qualifications:

  • Strong construction knowledge (technical activities and processes) required.
  • Ability to read building plans/blueprints with high degree of understanding; proven ability to recognize and resolve plan implementation conflicts.
  • Ability to thrive in a continuous improvement environment.
  • Effective information sharing to/with department team members and peers and management.
  • Good verbal, listening and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Highly analytical and good mathematical skills.
  • Highly organized and process oriented.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • 1-2 years in estimating or purchasing required.
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Background in Construction field preferred.
  • Position requires sitting, walking, standing, and project onsite surveying (standing, climbing stairs/ladders, etc.)
  • Driving to communities required periodically.
  • Noise level for office environment is quiet to moderate. Field can be noisy and require ear protection at times.
